Original Greek title: “Filia eis ta paidia”
a documentary film by Vassilis Loules
developed in the workshops of STORYDOC
The film was awarded the Audience Award at the “Greek Film Festival Chicago, USA” (October 4-8, 2012). This award is another one distinction beside the other 7 that the film has already taken at Festivals.
The film was shot in Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina & Chania, Greece, and it’s is going to be broadcasted by Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT).
Synopsis of the film
Five Jewish children saved by Christians in German-occupied Greece.
Childhood was their Garden of Eden.
Even though they spent it in hiding.
Even though they lost it in the shadow of the Holocaust.
Rosina, Iossif, Eftyhia, Shelly and Marios grew old, carrying the memory of those children who were never given the time to grow up.
This is a film on the Greek-Jews in hiding; a film on the brave men and women who saved lives at the risk of losing their own, but above all, a film on the childhood itself.
