On Wednesday July 7th in the campus of the Ionian University in Corfu, Greece in a warm, friendly and productive atmosphere the international documentary workshop “StoryDoc 2010” concluded with success its activities. Organizers of the workshop were the Greek educational non profit institution StoryDoc ,(www.storydoc.gr) the Ionian University, Audiovisual Arts Department and Greek Public Television E.R.T., in coloboration with the Region of Ionian Islands, the Municipality of Athens, the French institute, the British Council, and the Goethe Institute. The seminar is supported and funded by the Media Program of European Commission Head of Studies is the internationally known consultant Tue Steen Muller.Tte educational material and the programe has been elaborated by the European Documentary ,and professors of the Audiovisual Arts Department of the Ionian University, as well as the President of the department Mr. Nikos Kanellopoulos participated to the workshop, whereas numerous students of the department attended the lectures. StoryDoc has scheduled a series of educational activities and meetings between creators and buyers/co-producers. The development of collaboration between producers from the Mediterranean and the Middle East was highly emphasized in order target both the European and American markets. In Corfu storydoc team with its consultants developed 18 European projects and via videoconfernce and internet 2 projects more.The seminar attended guest film-makers with projects from Middle East. In Corfu both Palestinians and Israelis participated together in educational and cultural activities of collaboration and co-production for the very first time after years, fact that made the seminars really unique for television networks in Europe and the U.S. In Corfu 14 specialists, directors, editors, script writers tutored. Tutors have collaborated via internet with the participants before meeting them there and, apart from the open to all lectures, also individual meetings took place. Each participant had 6 individual meetings with the tutors during all the workshop. The duration of the meetings was 2 hours In Corfu the process was watched by channel directors,and comissioning editors so that the spirit, the views of the market follow the educational co-operation step by step. The educational consulting proccess will be continued via internet from Corfu until the second session of the workshop..Scholarships were given to the following projects

The focus of the workshops is to promote Greece’s role as a nexus in the Mediterranean and European co-production.
