Call for Palestinian documentary proposals For the development and co-production initiative documenting the Social Media Movement- DocSocMediaMove. The call is open to Palestinian filmmakers. The projects will be selected by a selection committee composed of: Tue Steen Muller, Mikael Opstrup, Story Doc’s Head of Studies (Denmark) , Laetitia Pele (French consulate cultural service) and George Khleifi (Film maker/ Producer, Palestine). THE PROJECTS: Up to 20 projects will be selected. The Projects should have a strong Mediterranean connection in all fields that interests the Palestinian society, including the Arab Spring. We ask for a two page presentation of the project: synopsis, treatment, visual style (each up to 150 words), director and producer CV's, status of the project, first estimate budget) plus eventual trailer or other kind of visual material connected to the project.
THE PROGRAM: The selected creative documentary projects will be developed through 3 days workshop in Ramallah, tutored by experienced documentary directors, commissioning editors, producers, editors. 4 projects will be selected to go ahead with Story Doc development program.
The sessions in 2012: - First special session Ramallah March 21-23 and via video conference in Gaza
- Second session: Ramallah Pitching (Ramallah Doc.) June 2012
- Third session in Leipzig (Germany) November 2,3,4. Up to 4 porjects will be awareded with scholarsips. A pitching session will be organized to extra 10-15 commissioning editors and distributors. STORYDOC will offer up to 4 scholarships to 4 of the selected Palestinian projects (from the First Special Session) to take part in the last session in Leipzig The scholarships cover all fees: Travel expenses, all lunches and coffee breaks , one dinner per session and special discount for hotel accommodation .
 Benefits: All participants can be members of Storydoc delegation to the Sheffield Doc Festival June 13 -18 with discount pass, hotels and accommodation Deadline for submission of projects is February 20, 2012 The work in all sessions will be performed in groups and on individual basis. There will be work on treatments, scripts as well as on visuals (trailers, demos, teasers). Inspirational lectures will be held on several documentary relevant subjects. Main focus is the creative process of developing film projects to secure quality and originality. The Participants will be documentary professionals and filmmakers (including authors, directors, producers, screenwriters, and consultants) with experience in their local environment, aiming at working on an international level. A strong impact will be put on networking between the participating filmmakers and producers as well as broadcasters. Collaboration will be encouraged between Mediterranean producers from the South and the North.
